By the grace of She Who Is Illumination Of Thought, I greet you.
Our mysterious and beautiful Goddess is the Mind of the Universe, knowing all things, and it takes a brain as big as the universe to hold and process all that knowledge. It's a big job, and She, in Her infinite wisdom, has seen fit to delegate a lot of it. That is why we too have brains, self-consciousness, reason, and judgment: so we can take on our own share of this huge task like big girls and boys.
It's hubris to imagine that we could know the vast mind of the Goddess, but we certainly have the power to understand our place in the grand scheme of things. SHE has made it possible for us to know right from wrong. SHE gives us courage and other extraordinary strengths when we must go to battle for what is good, and She drains us of strength, lending no aid when we go wrong.
Stubborn persistence in the face of oppression, the power to hold to one's own inner truth even when all seems against you is grace and a form of courage. When does it become folly? How does one know when to give up, or when to keep struggling? The Goddess will guide you. Just because She doesn't manage every little detail of your human life doesn't mean you are now on your own. SHE takes an active, lively interest in how you are doing, and Her power of higher understanding is available for you to tap, if you know how.
One of the most palpable ways the Goddess has of guiding us, of shedding light on dark areas of our life, is through dreams. Dreams are the subconscious mind sending a message, or asking a question of your waking mind, who is the boss. In our waking hours, daydreams and fantasies employ images that have a deeply personal meaning, and when you feel them deeply they become instructions from your conscious to your subconscious mind. One job of the conscious mind is to tell the subconscious what to take care of. That is what daydreaming and fantasizing is all about. Through fantasies, we give our subconscious instructions in a language it understands: the language of images, powered by feelings.
It's important to know what's cooking in your subconscious, because that's the part of your mind that makes things happen without you watching it all the time. Everything that we wish for becomes a goal in the subconscious mind, and without trying to, you will find yourself creating the circumstances that help you to realize those goals, whether they are "good" goals or not! Your subconscious is no judge of good or bad. The subconscious is pure animal force, and is like a greedy little kid with no manners and no common sense. It's equally good to your subconscious to make you suffer in "desirable" or "undesirable" ways, if you've been hoping for a masochistic adventure. If you hope to be a well-respected dominant, you'd better also hope for the responsibility that goes with it, or your subconscious will get mixed signals, and you'll get mixed results.
Your conscious mind has a lot to think about, and it doesn't remember everything and do everything at once, so it delegates to the subconscious any concern that is not of immediate importance. The subconscious is like a big storage basement, where you keep things you want to keep that you don't need right now. Some people's "basement" is a big mess, with everything all jumbled together, willy-nilly. The conscious mind is like the home above where you actually live, and some people have a mess there, too!
Whether or not your mind is well-organized and "tidy" doesn't matter, so put away the metaphorical feather-dusters! I do urge you, however, to take responsibility for what's in there, and D/S psychodramas can actually help.
One obvious way this can be shown to be true is by the wonderful liberating feeling one gets when one begins to act out erotic fantasies, instead of keeping them secret and professing so-called "normal" desires. To be your best and enjoy life the most, you have to be mentally and emotionally healthy. For total mental and emotional health, it's necessary for a person to live in a way that's not self-defeating. If your conscious and subconscious are at odds, you are fighting yourself at every turn, and can't win. Actually, the subconscious is stronger and will ultimately win, because it's backed by the full force of your animal instincts. So, Get To Know Your Subconscious, And Take Control Of It. Like a big, dumb animal, it can be controlled with intelligence.
How is it that puny humans can control and dominate big horses, elephants, camels, and lions? How can a petite, dainty woman master and manage a man twice her size? With intelligence, or rather, with the application of intelligent methods. With intelligent methods, it's possible to control your subconscious like a beautiful horse and make its power work for you. What concerns me is the witless way so many of us teach our "dark horse" to do all the wrong things. Or worse, the way some neglect it entirely, even letting it dominate. Yes, it's a powerful thing, and those nightmares can be intimidating as hell, but if you observe and follow them, they will lead you to the water of inspiration.
Through erotic D/S psychodrama it's possible to create an impression on your subconscious mind that will direct it to work for you while you turn your everyday attention to other things. This is sexual magic, real magic, and it is a tool of real power for life transformation. All doms, subs, and switches should know how to tap and use this fantastic power for their own benefit.
The Goddess blesses our way of loving and living, and She wants us to enjoy satisfying lives. SHE has given us the power to create perfect circumstances for ourselves, and She will help us to develop and wisely use that power. If we turn to Her with perfect faith and trust, asking for guidance, She will speak to us through dreams and visions, unerringly pointing the way.
One simple way to apply this principle is to ask the Goddess, Our Lady Of Play, to bless you with a revealing dream. I did this, and one dream the Goddess sent me I will now describe:
In answer to my question, "How can I best serve you, dear Goddess?" I dreamed that I was sitting in a pleasant living room chatting with friends. I noticed that their front door was barricaded, and I asked why. "Because of what's out there!" they answered, as if I was a fool to ask. I pulled the furniture away that was blocking the door and went outside, despite my friend's protests and warnings. It was a beautiful sunny day, and I was just beginning to enjoy myself, when I was suddenly confronted by a huge, roaring dragon. The dragon was purple, four stories high, with one big, ugly eye. It lowered its head to roar right in my face, and the creature was so stereotypically horrid that my reaction was to laugh. Instantly, the thing deflated like a big balloon, and vanished in a puff of smoke. I turned to my terrified friends who had watched it all, helpless with terror. "See?" I exulted, "Nothing to worry about!"
I understood this to mean that the Goddess wanted me to help our people to come out of hiding, to overcome their baseless fears. The Goddess wants us to live fully and happily, and we will better do that when we embrace our way of life with pride. It may help to remember that She loves us, and in Her eyes we are not despised, not flawed, but beautiful and perfect.
