ATTENTION: ULC is no longer accepting new members. Effective March, 2009, ULC suspended all group meetings and activities. After 20 years of faithful service to the local Connecticut BDSM community, Laura Goodwin and her spouse are taking a long needed and well-deserved break. We are grateful to our members and friends. This site will continue indefinitely for reference purposes, but will no longer be updated.
Welcome to the ULC site. Our club is a friendly, informal social/support group for men and women who practice erotic dominance in its many forms. ULC is an honored and respected Connecticut friendship club for BDSM men and women of all orientations. We offer mentoring, counseling, hands-on workshops, socials, play parties, and a genuinely warm and welcoming environment. Open to adults over 18, couples and singles are all welcome. Practitioners at all levels of development and involvement will find here, among us, a nurturing, no-politics haven of mutual respect, peace, and lively fun.
We meet on the first Saturday of every month, at 7:30 PM, in a private location. All participants are pre-screened and our meetings are not open to the public. Our philosophy is simple: we believe that bondage and discipline, fantasy role-play, sensual sadomasochism, erotic "torture" etc. can be a satisfying part of a well-balanced life. We believe that B&D, D&S, S/M activities can be a positive part of a loving relationship. We assert that dominance practitioners are as deserving as anyone of life's joys, and we unite to help each other to claim those joys. A BRIEF HISTORY OF OUR ORGANIZATION Laura and her slave husband Bruce moved to Connecticut from Colorado, where they had been active in a club (which Laura founded) named Denver Area Dominants and Submissives. D.A.D.S. had been active for five years and was very successful. Through that group they met many wonderful people, many of whom became dear friends. Once Laura was settled here, she realized that there was no similar club nearby, so she decided to get one started. U.L.C. was born in March 1990, and we've been going strong ever since. Half of the twenty people that were at the first meeting are still active with us. We have gradually built a very loving community of friends, and a sterling international reputation. Although we get mail and visitors from all over, our aim will always be to remain a comfortable, private club for local leatherfolk of all persuasions. WHAT TO EXPECT We meet on the first Saturday of each month in a private home for circle discussion and fellowship. We share information about the lifestyle and scene (local and beyond) swap ideas, and usually also enjoy demonstrations of noteworthy techniques. You'll get exposed to a wealth of viewpoints, and will no doubt meet a number of people with whom you may "click". Whether you are "Top" or "bottom" (or both) you will be respected here, and we ask that you treat other members with gentle courtesy. With everyone's cooperation we can keep our meetings a pleasant place to learn, and make friends. Periodically you may get invited to a party, which is a good chance to dress up in your favorite fetish gear and play. Monitors ensure safety and emotional comfort for all. Although we often support fund-raising efforts, we are not a fund-raising organization, nor a political activism group. Our entire reason for being is to meet so we can enjoy all the benefits of togetherness with those of our own kind. There is no membership fee. Parties are non-commercial social affairs. We do pass the hat for donations at meetings, and any contribution helps us to keep going. We maintain an email discussion group, Laura's Pals, which is a convenient way to stay in touch and develop relationships online. We can't guarantee you a date, but we can increase your chances of getting a date, and we will generally make your life a lot nicer in dozens of ways. Why Is ULC Special? When ULC was founded, it was the only club of its kind in CT. Times have changed. Now there are several BDSM social clubs in CT. Why prefer ULC?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST For more information you may email Laura. Remember, ULC is disbanded and is no longer accepting new members.
